What is Astrology?

Astrology is an art that has been practised in many forms throughout the world for thousands of years. Modern "psychological" Astrology can be viewed as a symbolic language and used to relate Cosmic patterns and events to human experience. The alphabet of this language comprises the planets of the Solar System and other bodies and phenomena, angular relationships between them, the Zodiacal Signs, and twelve "Houses" formed by the division of an Earth-centred chart of the Solar System at the time, date and place of the event being considered - which is usually the birth of an individual.

How can it help me?

Astrology offers no "easy answers" to the fundamental questions of life, but it can be useful in a number of ways depending on the type of chart being considered, who is reading it and why.

Most people are curious about what the "stars" have to say about them so a birth chart reading can be a welcome birthday present.

Likewise, a couple contemplating commitment to their relationship may wish to gain an astrological perspective on their union. Or a friend may want to present them with a partnership reading. With a shift of emphasis, similar techniques can be applied to gauge the compatibility of business partners.

If someone is experiencing problems, these are often visible as areas of stress in the birth chart which are being activated by planetary transits. Seeing their difficulties in abstract form on a chart often helps people to talk them out, and possibly realise how they fit in to an overall life - pattern. It can also be helpful to place events in a probable time frame. Challenging experiences begin and peak, but they also come to an end.

How is it Done?

I will need birth details for the person(s) involved. These are:

1. Time (please state whether local time or GMT)

2. Date

3. Place (nearest large town or city)

Most people know their date and place of birth but are not always certain about time. An accurate birth time is essential for detailed astrological work. In effect, if the birth time quoted is wrong, the resulting chart and reading will be for someone else!

If the birth time is unknown, a limited reading can be given. Alternatively, I can arrange for the birth-time to be dowsed by a psychic - using an article belonging to you or via a brief meeting.

A consultation appointment is an option if you live in the Plymouth area. A consultation is a face to face meeting at a local venue of your choice. This typically lasts between one hour and 90 minutes and gives flexibility and the opportunity for questions to be asked and answered. An audio CD is included in the fee. All readings include printed chart(s) and a set of notes on astrological symbols..

Readings can also be supplied by post – in typescript or via CD, and the fee quoted includes postage.

The format of a postal reading is as follows:

1. An A4 print of the chart 'wheel' with aspect grid etc.

2. A set of explanatory notes on Astrological symbols.

3. The reading itself. For a normal birth chart this typically consists of an analysis of the chart under headings such as: Personality, Inner Self, Emotional Nature, Mentality, Work & Relationships. The final section covers Life Path and Trends - present and future. A typescript usually runs to around 12 pages of A4 single-sided.

The following statements are included in accordance with current consumer protection legislation. It is important that you read them before making the decision to proceed with a reading:

1. Astrology is a symbolic language & offers a balance of probabilities in its analyses and projections rather than specific certainties.

2. The nature of the astrological work described in this leaflet is personality/character analysis, assessment of probable changes in life experience over time, and the assessment of compatibility between individuals in personal and/or business relationships. The scale of fees is set out below.

3. Astrology is not scientifically proven and no reading can be 100% accurate. Nevertheless I will work to the best of my knowledge and abilities in the preparation and delivery of your reading.

The fees for standard charts and readings are as follows:

1. Birth chart – consultation including CD £25.00

2. Birth chart – postal reading - typescript or CD £35.00

3. Partnerships - personal / business £50.00
